Breakfast with VADM Terrance Etnyre
As a newly minted member of the San Diego Military Advisory Council, I attended the organization’s signature monthly breakfast meeting. Vice Admiral Terrance T. Etnyre, Commander of the Naval Surface Forces, was featured as the guest speaker. The event was hosted in the Admiral Kidd Club at the Navy ASW Training Center in San Diego.
The vice admiral spoke primarily on Littoral Combat Ships, which are popular news within the United States Navy. LCS are one of the Navy’s fastest ships. These ships can travel up to 60 knots, execute a 360° turn in less than eight lengths at top speed, and accelerate to full speed in less than two minutes.
